We just had a new boat lift installed for our Sung Harbor 18.
Boat weight is around 3,000. Lift capacity is 8,000. No bunks. The keel rests on the fore and aft cross-members to carry the weight, and there are a couple of jackstand-like supports on either side at the stern to keep her level. At the moment, the jackstand support pads are fixed, but the contractor agrees they need to be self-aligning (like jackstands on the hard). The result is something like being on the hard, but with no jackstands forward.
The wireless remote control is a nice option, and she can be easily leveled if need be.
Our plan is to leave her on the lift through the winter, assuming the insurer's blessing.
